‘WHICH’ CONNECTOR?
Read on to learn how to avoid poor connectors and badly made copies.
As the inventors of the Prologic ‘Quick Release’ Connectors we at Real Ideas are extremely disappointed in the array and amount of poor quality copies that are spoiling the reputation and sales of the ‘genuine’ new specification Prologic connectors (light blue in colour).
The ‘genuine’ Prologic can be seen on our site in ‘Tight Lines’ footage courtesy of Sky TV.
If you choose to order via PayPal IMPORTANT to state which size you want in the message box. If not stated we will send the Medium size connectors. CLICK HERE FOR www.realideas.eu HOME PAGE

Most use medium on all thier gear but many choose the Large for their keepnets. Small are ONLY for bite alarms and butt rests as these were specifically designed for that purpose.

Poor fitting connectors, copies and the downright terrible connectors conning anglers
Male parts shown below are from connectors to avoid as they will all break through to the next indentation with one twist of the accessory and be ruined.
All the copies of this connector are made to a much lesser quality than the ‘New Spec’ Prologic shown further down this page and prone to failure with very little use.

From left to right.
1. The poor ‘pop out’ type that is over engineered for the job. Worst fit of them all and one twist and will be turned into a groove and therefore ruined. NOTE the male part has these two different diameters.
2. A poor fitting copy of the Prologic Note - the straight knurling on the pull back collar.
3. This gold colour connector was sent to us from a Swedish angler and is so poorly machined it actually pulls apart!! without even having to pull the collar back. The angler lost his net because of it’s appalling quality and fit.
4. The early Prologic before they changed the design to the ‘New Specification’ connectors which are easily recognised due to there ‘light blue’ gun metal colour. (see images below)
Avoid all of these like the plague!
Take a look at the GENUINE ‘new specification’ Prologic connectors to Real Ideas specifications.
These can also be seen on the video footage on our site courtesy of Sky TV and shown on ‘Tight Lines’
These come in Large, Medium and Small.
Small designed only for bite alarms. Medium for all coarse accessories. Large for bigger landing net handles or some use on there keepnets.
There will still be some of the smooth top connectors available and are exactly the same quality and construction as the latest diamond ‘knurled’ male part ones. The diamond ‘knurling’ has been added to allow a better grip if the angler chooses to to put them on finger tight rather than use a spanner to tighten.

The image above is showing the three sizes before the new ‘diamond knurled’ male parts.
NOTE – The distinctive light blue colour
Prologic’s latest new ‘diamond knurled’ male part provide grip to aid finger tightening
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THE CORRECT PACKAGING
‘NEW SPECIFICATION’ Small, Medium and Large packs have tick boxes in the bottom right corner
NOTE. The indentations on these genuine Prologic connectors are machined to fit the contour of the stainless balls that locked the connector firmly in place. The tolerance are precise therefore giving an excellent fit.
NOTE. There is material between each indentation making it difficult to break through to the next indentation.
These are precision machined and rapidly becoming the ‘must have’ item for 2009 ending the tedious, unnecessary task of ‘screwing up’ every time you go fishing.
We are proud to announce that these are the only quick release connectors fully endorsed and USED by Bob Nudd and Tight Lines presenter Keith Arthur
