Our Aim

As a company we pride ourselves in constantly striving to improve and introduce only ‘real ideas’ to the market and you, the angler.  Our sole aim is to enhance the enjoyment for anglers at all levels whilst improving on some of the traditional ways with the introduction of these innovative products.

Methods and techniques constantly change and products are being improved not only to give anglers more enjoyment in their chosen sport more but hopefully help all of us to catch more fish.

Our Moviation

Real Ideas identified three areas listed below that anglers told us often cause problems or difficulty.

1. The difficulty for many to release the anti-reverse lever on fixed spool reels quickly enough when caught out by a sudden and violent take! (especially with any ‘method’ type set-up)
2. Holding the pole for long periods making feeding more difficult,  plus unable to carry out many tasks with only one hand available. Many also complain about aches and strains that result from holding long pole.
3. The screwing of accessories together, tedious and time consuming and difficult for some especially when threads get damaged or dirt causes them to lock up!

• Number 1. has been addressed with Okuma recently releasing reels that end the need to ‘manually’ release the anti-reverse lever and is incorporate on there 10 ball bearing Payback and 5 ball bearing Sequel reels. These have a extra third ‘centre’ position that when ‘engaged’ is anti-reverse but a fifth of a turn of the reel handle disengages it automatically. Ideal for ‘method’ feeder and river fishing it avoids reel handles turning back on a take or caused by the flow of the water. This technology is called 3PAR (three position anti-reverse) and the invention of Real Ideas.

• Number 2. is a thing of the past and no longer an issue for those using Real Ideas Mk2 Clever Claw. This unique pole support has a stainless steel spring released arm. Once ‘clipped’ onto the butt of the pole all the weight normally taken by the anglers upper body is now on the underside of the Clever Claw. When the angler wants control of the pole a slight push down on the pole butt release the arm of the claw allowing to rotate through 180 degrees ‘instantly’.

• Number 3. has been addressed by the introduction of our invention the ‘Prologic Quick Release Connectors’.  This unique accessory adaptor fits onto all accessories including keepnets, landing nets, net handles, banksticks, bite alarms, butt rests, storm poles etc. etc. Totally eliminating the tedious exercise that all anglers of all disciplines had to go through in the past which was to ‘screw up’ every fishing trip.  Saves valuable time when setting up and greatly speeds up the breaking down at the end of a session. A ‘must have’ piece of gear when it comes to weighing after the match. The removal of the landing net head is quick and simple to weigh a fish or to put that important fish safely into the keepnet without 3mtrs of handle waving about in the air (impossible with your brolly up).
